#SHOWBIZ: Big sister, not 'Aunty': Gillian Chung playfully chides fans over age-related titles

HONG KONG: Popular singer and actress Gillian Chung recently charmed fans with her trademark warmth and wit during a lighthearted online interaction.

The Twins star, who forms one-half of the iconic Cantopop duo alongside Charlene Choi, shared a video of herself unboxing letters and handmade gifts from her “Twins” (fans).

In the clip, she took the time to personally thank them for their thoughtfulness and effort.

However, the mood turned playful when Chung read a letter from a young fan named Little and her mother.

As reported by Dimsum Daily, the star jokingly took issue with the way she was addressed in the note.

“I need to educate you a little,” Chung said with a smile.

“What do you mean ‘Dear Aunty Gillian Chung’ and ‘Aunty Charlene Choi’? Didn’t your mother tell you that big sister doesn’t like being called that?”

The 44-year-old artiste certainly has a case for being offended, as she remains famous for her “frozen-age” features.

Netizens have frequently praised her youthful appearance, with many noting that she looks 90 per cent the same as she did during her debut in her 20s.

The duo, who celebrated their 23rd anniversary on May 18 last year, continue to be icons of the Cantopop scene, proving that age is but a number.
