MOSCOW: At least one woman was killed and five other people were injured to varying degrees after a shooting in Chicago, according to an American Broadcasting Company (ABC) report on Sunday, citing the police, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
The shooting happened on Sunday morning at a large outdoor gathering on Chicago’s West Side, police were quoted by the TV channel as saying.
A 22-year-old woman was found with a gunshot injury to her back and was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago, where she was declared dead, according to police.
Three of the five injured people were hospitalised in critical condition. An 18-year-old man was treated at the scene for a laceration to his left arm, while a 29-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her right elbow was taken to hospital in good condition.
It was one of three shootings that occurred in the same area of the city in less than three hours, police also said. Police are investigating the shooters’ motives. – BERNAMA
