KUALA LUMPUR: Several Rapid KL stations are temporarily closed today from 4pm to 6pm for safety reasons in conjunction with the ongoing 47th Asean Summit.
Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, the operator of the Rapid KL rail network, said in a statement that the temporary closure involved selected stations along three main lines — the Kelana Jaya Line, the Putrajaya Line, and the Kajang Line.
“For the Kelana Jaya Line, the affected stations are Ampang Park and KLCC, while on the Putrajaya Line, the Conlay, Persiaran KLCC, and Ampang Park stations will be closed,” it said.
“The Kajang Line will see the temporary closure of the Bukit Bintang Station.”
Rapid Rail advised passengers to use alternative routes or other transport modes during the two-hour closure period.
Among the alternative stations recommended are Bukit Nanas, Raja Chulan, and Bukit Bintang on the Monorail Line, while commuters on the Kelana Jaya Line can use the Kampung Baru Station, accessible via the Saloma Bridge.
The company added that all other stations would continue operating as usual according to the normal service schedule.
“Passengers are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and refer to Rapid KL’s social media channels or the Pulse app for the latest service updates,” it said.
Rapid Rail apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked passengers for their understanding and cooperation.
