SHAH ALAM: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has approved RM67 million for public infrastructure projects in Selangor this year, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the allocation included People-Friendly Projects (PMR) worth RM44 million, Public/Basic Infrastructure Projects (PNTAR) worth RM4.5 million, Madani Infrastructure Projects (Prisma) worth RM6.5 million and Prisma-Finance Ministry projects worth RM12 million.
“I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the prime minister for approving RM67 million for Selangor to fund programmes and small-scale public infrastructure projects.
“This reflects the good relationship between the federal and state governments, which benefits the people.
“The aim of these small projects is to complement five-year development plans or major projects, enhance the government’s image, evaluate infrastructure facilities and show concern for the people.”
He said the projects would be carried out through quotation, balloting and direct appointment, based on the Finance Ministry’s decision.
He said a premier balloting session was held on Sept 11, focusing on 147 physical projects with a ceiling value of RM8.2 million.
Amirudin said this at the contract indent handover and laptop presentation ceremony at the menteri besar’s official residence in Section 7 today.
At the event, he presented laptops and certificates of appreciation to 22 students who achieved 9As and above in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia, as well as one Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia student who obtained a cumulative grade point average of 4.00.
