KUALA LUMPUR: A minor tremor was felt in Johor at 4.24am today, marking another in a series of recent seismic events in the Segamat area.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the quake was detected 22km northeast of Segamat at a depth of 10km.
MetMalaysia will continue to monitor the situation.

This morning’s incident follows several mild quakes recorded in the area over the past week.
Yesterday, a minor earthquake occurred at 7.56 pm,measuring 2.5 on the Richter scale.
It was detected 13km north of Segamat at a depth of 10km.
On Wednesday, a minor 3.2-magnitude earthquake rattled Segamat and surrounding areas with no damage or injuries reported.
The tremor at 8.59am was centred near Segamat and felt across parts of Johor and southern Pahang.
On Sunday, two earthquakes, the first measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale and the second at 2.8, struck Segamat, a rare occurrence in the district.
Those tremors also caused no major damage, but raised awareness about the district’s susceptibility to regional seismic activity.
