KUANTAN: The search and rescue operation for an excavator driver believed buried in a rockfall at a quarry in Ulu Gali, Sungai Ruan, Raub, was suspended at 7pm today.
Pahang Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations and rescue Mohd Salahuddin Isa said the operation to locate Mohammad Fazrul Illahi Ab Rahman, 30, will resume at 8am tomorrow.
“Rescuers have so far cleared about 15 metric tonnes of rocks, but the victim has yet to be found,” he said when contacted.
He said two sniffer dogs from the department and police were deployed.
More than 60 personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department, police and the Civil Defence Force involved in the operation.
In the 12.50pm incident last Saturday, Mohammad Fazrul was operating an excavator when he was struck by falling rocks from a nearby hillside.
