Search continues for missing body parts after gruesome find at KK dump

KOTA KINABALU: Police and garbage collectors are searching for more body parts following the discovery of a human arm and leg at a rubbish dump in Taman Indah Permai here this morning.

The search has been extended to another nearby disposal area, while workers are re-checking waste already loaded into a garbage truck.

Investigators are trying to determine if the remaining limbs, torso and head were discarded at a different site or have already been transported away.

As of 11am today, no additional remains have been found.

Earlier, a garbage collector was shocked when a human arm, from the hand to the shoulder, fell out of a bin as he was loading waste into his truck at 6.30am.

Following the discovery, workers inspected the bin and found a human leg, from the foot to the thigh.

The remains, believed to be those of a woman, are thought to have been dismembered and placed in black garbage bags before being discarded.

Acting district police chief Superintendent Syed Lot Syed Ab Rahman confirmed the incident and said the investigation is ongoing.

“Updates will be announced as the investigation continues,” he said when contacted.
