Samsung launches rugged Galaxy XCover7 Pro and Tab Active5 Pro in Malaysia

Samsung Malaysia has introduced two new ruggedized devices, the Galaxy XCover7 Pro smartphone and the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro tablet. Both are built for frontline workers and industries such as logistics, healthcare, and manufacturing, offering military-grade durability, larger batteries, and enterprise-grade features.

Samsung Galaxy XCover7 Pro Specs and Features

The Samsung XCover7 Pro is designed for reliability in tough conditions. It features a 6.6-inch FHD+ TFT LCD display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and Vision Booster for outdoor readability. Touch sensitivity is enhanced for glove use (up to 2mm thick) and limited wet conditions.

Specs include the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage (expandable up to 2TB via microSD), and Android 15 out of the box. The rear camera setup consists of a 50MP main (f/1.8) and 8MP ultrawide (f/2.2), while the front camera is 13MP (f/2.2).

Power is provided by a 4,350mAh removable battery, supporting POGO pin charging for multi-device docks. The phone also comes with upgraded stereo speakers that use anti-feedback noise reduction to prevent disruptive audio loops, improving clarity for push-to-talk or walkie-talkie-style communication.

The device is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance, MIL-STD-810H certified for durability, and protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+. Other features include Dolby Atmos audio, a programmable key for shortcuts, Samsung Knox Vault security, and biometric options via face recognition and a fingerprint sensor.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro is built for field teams who need a larger device. It has a 10.1-inch WUXGA TFT LCD display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and Vision Booster, with peak brightness upgraded to 600 nits (up from 480 nits in the previous model). The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+.

It runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage (expandable to 2TB). Cameras include a 12MP rear and 8MP front unit.

The tablet comes with a 10,100mAh removable battery that supports dual hot-swap, allowing battery replacement without shutting down. It also features No Battery Mode, useful when the device is permanently docked in vehicles or kiosks.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro ships with an IP68-rated S Pen, designed for note-taking, annotation, and use in wet environments. Like the phone, it supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC (front-facing for retail and logistics), dual SIM (pSIM + eSIM), and POGO charging.

Both devices are MIL-STD-810H certified, resistant to drops, extreme temperatures, and vibrations. They are also tested for use with common workplace sanitizers for environments that require frequent cleaning.

Both the Samsung XCover7 Pro and Tab Active5 Pro support Samsung DeX for desktop-style multitasking, programmable keys for quick access to critical apps, and AI-powered tools such as Circle to Search, Object Eraser, and Read Aloud. Security is handled by Samsung Knox Vault with hardware-level encryption, DEFEX runtime protection, and real-time kernel protection.
