PETALING JAYA:
The 17th Sabah state election will be held on Nov 29, the Election Commission (EC) announced today.
In a press conference, EC chairman Ramlan Harun said nomination day had been fixed for Nov 15, while early voters can cast their ballots on Nov 25.
This follows the dissolution of the Sabah legislative assembly on Oct 6.
This state election is shaping up to be yet another crowded contest, with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah set to clash with Barisan Nasional despite both coalitions reaching a pact with Pakatan Harapan.
Perikatan Nasional, Warisan, Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat, Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku, Sabah Progressive Party and Parti Gemilang Anak Sabah are also expected to field candidates for the 73 seats up for grabs.
