SEMPORNA: Parti Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal is defending his Senallang state seat for the third consecutive term, facing off with three others in this state election.
Entering the Semporna Community on Saturday (Nov 15), the former chief minister was accompanied by a huge crowd of Warisan supporters.
He sees running in a four-cornered fight this round as part of a healthy democratic process, saying it has to be respected and celebrated.
“This is Sabah’s democratic festival. Every candidate has the right to contest. What matters is our struggle for the people and ensuring Sabah’s future continues to be defended,” said Shafie, who faced a five-cornered fight in the 2020 state election.
He reminded the public that this election is among the most critical for Sabah, particularly in defending rights under MA63 and restoring integrity, economic direction and stability in the state’s administration.
He said the party was grateful to all supporters, volunteers and the public for making nomination day peaceful and orderly.
Parti Warisan is contesting all 73 state seats.
