Sabah polls: Barisan, Pakatan and GRS battle to go head-to-head in four seats

KOTA KINABALU: Four seats in Sabah will see Barisan, Pakatan and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah contesting against each other despite earlier agreements to avoid such clashes.

3623578Before nomination day, Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan had tried to ensure their coalitions would not challenge each other.

Pakatan Harapan also made a similar arrangement with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, holding weeks of seat negotiations to prevent contests between the two coalitions.

However, on nomination day, the situation reversed as Barisan and Pakatan Harapan both fielded candidates in Karamunting and Kemabong.

Barisan’s candidate in Karamunting is Datuk Chin Kim Hiung while Pakatan is represented by Datuk George Hiew.

In Kemabong, Barisan’s Rahmah Jan Sulaiman will face several challengers, including Pakatan’s Noorita Sual.

At the same seat, Pakatan is also up against Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, which has fielded incumbent Datuk Rubin Balang.

In Moyog, Pakatan’s Remysta Taylor is contesting against Gabungan Rakyat Sabah’s Ir Joeynodd Aiiko Roland Bansin.

In Bandau, Pakatan has fielded Zaidi Jatil while the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah candidate is Redonah Bahanda.
