KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno deputy chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan has withdrawn his candidacy for the Tempasuk seat in Kota Belud.
When contacted on Wednesday (Nov 12), Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin confirmed that Rahman had informed the party he was withdrawing as a candidate.
Bung Moktar said that Kota Belud Umno division chief Azwan Norjan will replace Rahman.

He declined to say why Rahman withdrew his candidacy.
Rahman, a former federal minister and Umno supreme council member, could not immediately be reached for comment.
The Tempasuk seat is held by Gagasan Rakyat Sabah’s Datuk Arshad Bistari, who won the seat on a Barisan-Umno ticket.
GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor announced Arshad’s name for the Tempasuk seat earlier in the day.
Sabah Barisan will be contesting a total of 45 seats in the Nov 29 state election.
