KOTA KINABALU: The private home of Sabah PAS Commissioner Datuk Aliakbar Gulasan, was discovered to have been splashed with red paint on Friday morning (Sept 19).
Aliakbar, a nominated assemblyman, lodged a report at the Alamesra police station regarding the incident on Friday.
He reported to the police that his son found a piece of paper with the word “DATUK” written in red paint outside their house’s fence.
Also found were rocks and red paint in clear plastic bags. It was claimed that these items were used to splash paint on the wall of Aliakbar’s house.
He said that he hoped the police would investigate the incident.
When asked if he suspected anyone, Aliakbar declined to speculate.
“We do not make any accusations or link them to any issues. I do not want to make any accusations, but from now on I will be more careful,” he added.
The party recently named Aliakbar as a candidate for Chief Minister in the coming election.
He was the first PAS member to become a Sabah assemblyman when Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor appointed him after Perikatan Nasional-Barisan Nasional-Parti Bersatu Sabah (loosely dubbed Gabungan Rakyat Sabah at the time) won the state government following the state election in September 2020.
He said that Sabah PAS had never discussed the issue of his being a candidate for Chief Minister in the upcoming election.
Aliakbar was widely expected to contest the state election in the Karambunai state seat.
