KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah Pas chief Datuk Dr Aliakbar Gulasan has filed a police report after paint was thrown on the gate of his home, accompanied by a note bearing the word “Datuk” on his fence.
Aliakbar claimed in a Facebook post today that the act appeared to be a threat or an attempt at intimidation, though he did not accuse anyone of being responsible.
“Today, I lodged a police report because this morning my house fence was splashed with paint, and a red note with ‘Datuk’ written on it was left behind.
“The report is for the police to investigate whether there was any mischief or harmful intent. This is also to protect me and my family, as it seems like a threat. Personally, I do not accuse anyone of carrying this out.
“I just hope this does not happen again. Even if it is related to political matters, I believe this is an outdated form of politics,” he said.
Aliakbar added that he had never used abusive language in his speeches and called for politics in Sabah to be conducted with courtesy and mutual respect, in order to foster a more peaceful future.
