KUALA LUMPUR: It is obvious that Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan will join forces for the 17th Sabah Election.
Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Samsudin said BN, especially Umno, and PH had consistently worked together.
As such, he said, there was no reason for the two not to collaborate.
“How can we work together here (in the federal administration) and not work together in Sabah?
“We will continue the spirit of the unity government in working together,” he told reporters when asked if there was a discussion on the collaboration during Wednesday night’s Umno supreme council meeting.
However, when the same question was put to another supreme council member, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, he would only say: “This was a normal meeting.”
On April 13, Sabah BN chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin had confirmed the coalition’s collaboration with Sabah PH ahead of the 17th state election.
Bung had said the decision was finalised during Sabah Umno’s retreat last year.
However, on April 14, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke said no official decision had been made yet regarding political cooperation between PH and BN in the Sabah polls.
