Sabah cops doing a great job ensuring political stability, safeguarding national security, says IGP

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah maintains a win-win situation with other governments in ongoing negotiations regarding security, sovereignty issues, claims on contested waters and other international matters, said Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail.

The Inspector-General of Police said the police force were involved in such talks and negotiations, and Sabah police have been doing a great job in ensuring political stability, as well as safeguarding national and international security interests.

“At the moment, we are in a win-win situation discussing these issues so that all can be resolved amicably,” he said.

This includes international issues with the Philippines and , as well as other nations, said Mohd Khalid, who is here on his maiden visit after being appointed IGP on June 23.

He said this to reporters after paying a courtesy call to Sabah Head of State Tun Musa Aman at Istana Seri Kinabalu here on Saturday (Aug 2).

On the meeting with Musa, he said they spoke about Sabah’s security and political stability among other things.
