Royal reception rich in tradition


KLANG: The royal reception steeped in tradition between the Raja Muda of , Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz took place at the Balairung Seri, Istana Alam Shah, here tonight.

The ceremony began at 7.30pm with the arrival of the Sultan of , Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and the Tengku Permaisuri of , Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.

The royal couple arrived at 7.45pm, accompanied by members of the royal family.

Both bride and groom looked elegant and regal in matching cream-coloured songket attire.

The ceremony commenced with the merenjis ceremony, led by the Sultan of Selangor and the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor.

The ceremony continued with Tengku Amir Shah’s mother, Puan Nurlisa Idris Abdullah, followed by other members of the royal family and the bride’s parents.

Also gracing the reception were the Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Selangor excos, royal family members, senior government officials and other distinguished guests.

The ceremony concluded with a prayer recitation by the Selangor Mufti Datuk Dr Anhar Opir, before proceeding to the royal banquet at the Balai Santapan Diraja, Istana Alam Shah.

The royal wedding ceremony took place at Masjid Istana Diraja, Istana Alam Shah, on Oct 2.

According to the Selangor Royal Office, the solemnisation was completed at 10.05am, followed by 11-gun salute.

Meanwhile, the royal couple is expected to grace the public in the upcoming Majlis Santunan Kasih Pengantin Diraja bersama Rakyat, scheduled to take place at Dataran Kemerdekaan Shah Alam on Nov 7, from 8pm to 11pm.
