PETALING JAYA:
Malaysians will enjoy a lower RON95 price of RM1.99 per litre once the targeted subsidies come into effect, says Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
In an announcement live-streamed on his Facebook page today, he said this would benefit around 18 million car and motorcycle users, including “youths as young as 16 and gig workers”.
“The government is maintaining its plan for targeted RON95 subsidies, with the details to be announced before the end of September 2025,” he said.
The announcement comes days after government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil said the government had pushed back the deadline for the rollout of RON95 targeted subsidies, initially fixed for the second half of this year.
