PETALING JAYA:
The price of RON95 petrol will be lowered from RM2.05 to RM1.99 per litre effective Sept 30, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced.
Anwar, who is also the finance minister, previously said the initiative would benefit about 18 million car and motorcycle users.
Only Malaysians with MyKads will be eligible for the new rate. Foreigners will be required to pay the full unsubsidised rate.
The government had capped RON95 at RM2.05 a litre since February 2021.
