BUCHAREST, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) — Families and individuals whose homes were damaged or destroyed by severe flooding in Romania will receive emergency financial aid, according to Raed Arafat, head of the Department for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Arafat said on Friday that 41 homes were completely destroyed and over 680 were damaged in the country’s Suceava County alone.
The floods, triggered by extreme weather on Sunday, have caused some of the worst damage seen in the region in recent years.
