RMSIR 2025: ATM Uranus targets podium finish

KLANG: The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) Uranus team is targeting a top-three finish at the 2025 Raja Muda of International Regatta (RMSIR).

ATM Uranus skipper Warrant Officer 1 Ahmad Fakhrizan Deraman said he and his 13 crew members are determined to improve on last year’s performance, when they finished fourth overall.

“For this year, the opponents are quite tough compared with previous editions because all those competing this year are former champions.

“Although we have many new crew members this year, that is not an issue for me. What matters most is teamwork among all team members,” he told Bernama.

A total of 28 teams from various countries are competing in the 35th RMSIR, which begins today.

The nine-day race began in Port Klang and will proceed to Pangkor in Perak, followed by Penang, with the competition scheduled to conclude in Langkawi.
