RM13.2 million contraband haul seized in simultaneous raids across 11 states

KUALA LUMPUR: Authorities seized more than RM13.2 million worth of contraband during a special operation codenamed Op Kontraban Mega.

The operation, held earlier this week, saw federal police and Customs Department personnel conduct simultaneous raids across 11 states.

Federal Internal Security and Public Order deputy director Datuk Fisol Salleh said the two-day operation, carried out between Aug 26 and 27, was spearheaded by the General Operations Force (GOF) headquarters in Bukit Aman, together with GOF brigades, the Customs Department, and local authorities.

“The overall value of seizures amounted to RM13.21 million,” he told reporters today.
