Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi 13x, the latest smartphone from its budget sub-brand. While it is being launched as a new model, the spec-sheet reveals that is actually the same phone as last year’s Redmi 13, but with a slight tweak to the design with a new camera island.
Aside from the subtle redesign, it is exactly the same smartphone as the 13, right down to the configuration, but with a minor price cut. The 13x sports a 6.79-inch 1080p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 550 nits. Inside, it runs on a MediaTek Dimensity G91-Ultra paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. For protection, it comes with an unspecified version of Corning Gorilla Glass as well as an IP53 rating for dust and splash resistance.
On the optics side, it features a 108MP main camera, a 2MP macro lens, and a 13MP front sensor. Powering the entry-level phone is the same 5,020mAh battery with support for 33W charging. Additionally, it gets a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for unlocking and connectivity-wise, it supports 4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and a headphone jack.
The Redmi 13x comes in two colours and retails with a price tag of RM599. It can be purchased through Xiaomi’s official online store.
