After teasing the launch of its GT 7 series of smartphones in Malaysia, realme has unveiled the GT 10,000mAh, a prototype smartphone with a massive battery. As its name suggests, the concept phone packs a 10,000mAh battery and is designed to address users’ battery woes.

The prototype features a slim body that is less than 8.5mm thick and weighs a little more than 200g, which means it’s about the same size as most smartphones on the market while having a bigger battery. According to realme, the phone uses a battery with 10% silicon anode for an energy density of 887Wh/L.

To attain optimal battery space, the company used what it calls the “Mini Diamond Architecture”, resulting in what it claims is the world’s narrowest Android mainboard. The mainboard measures just 23.4mm and is reportedly backed by over 60 international patents. The prototype sports a semi-transparent back cover to show off the huge battery and compact board.

Naturally, a phone with a massive battery will need fast charging, and the GT 10,000mAh has 320W charging for a speedy refuelling. Chase Xu, realme Vice President and President of Global Marketing, has taken to X to post a video showcasing some of the concept phone’s features.
