KUALA LUMPUR: Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd will extend the operation hours for the Bukit Jalil LRT station until 12.30am Sunday to accommodate the increase of commuters attending Malaysia Cup final and Datuk Amy Search’s first solo concert at the nearby stadium.
Rapid Rail said additional connecting stations will also remain open to facilitate onward travel for commuters.
“This extension is to ensure the comfort and convenience of passengers and event-goers,” it said in a statement.
Rapid Rail also advised commuters to plan their journey in advance and to use Touch ‘n Go cards for smoother travel.
“We encourage all passengers to ensure their Touch ‘n Go cards have sufficient balance to avoid delays,” it added.
Bukit Jalil is set to host two major events, attracting over 100,000 people tonight.
Football fans will gather at the National Stadium for the Malaysia Cup Final, which kicks off at 9pm.
Meanwhile, rock icon Datuk Amy Search will take the stage at the nearby Axiata Arena at 8.30pm.
Traffic congestion is expected to begin as early as 5pm and persist well into the night due to more than 60 percent of football tickets being sold and high demand for the concert.
