Raja Muda Of Selangor Witnesses SAY-MATRADE MoU To Empower Youth Entrepreneurs


KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 19 (Bernama) — The Raja Muda of , Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, graced the memorandum of understanding (MoU) exchange ceremony between Youth Community (SAY) and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) here today.

The MoU marked the start of a strategic collaboration between SAY and MATRADE aimed at empowering youth entrepreneurs in through the Selangor Export Entrepreneurs League (SAY ASPIRE) programme.

The MoU document exchange was carried out by MATRADE chief executive officer Datuk Seri Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz and SAY chief executive officer Aiman Syafiq Nazri, witnessed by Tengku Amir Shah, who is also the Royal Patron of SAY.

Aiman Syafiq said the SAY ASPIRE programme would benefit from various forms of support, including guidance, market exposure, access to MATRADE’s digital library and international trade networks, as well as expertise sharing and long-term strategic cooperation between SAY and MATRADE.

“With MATRADE’s support, they can connect (entrepreneurs) with MATRADE officers overseas, and these officers can then link them with vendors or suppliers who may be interested in their products or goods,” he said.

“… through this cooperation, it will provide more access for our entrepreneurs to the facilities and resources available at MATRADE,” he told reporters after the MoU exchange ceremony.

He said one of the main agendas of the MoU was to ensure participants of the SAY ASPIRE programme would be better prepared to penetrate international markets and realise their business potential.

Also present were Selangor Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship Committee chairman Mohd Najwan Halimi and MATRADE chairman Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, along with representatives of the Selangor state government, MATRADE board members, senior management of both organisations, and participants of the SAY ASPIRE programme.

Tengku Amir Shah also visited booths at the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2025, including those of SAY entrepreneurs, where he interacted with entrepreneurs and visitors.

Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ibrahim officiated MIHAS 2025, organised by MATRADE at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur, from Sept 17 to 20.

Held under the theme “Pinnacle of Halal Excellence,” the event features 2,400 booths with exhibitors and buyers from 80 countries, and is expected to attract 45,000 visitors.

MIHAS 2025 is projected to achieve sales of RM4.5 billion.
