FALSE

An advertisement for hiring Armed Forces veterans to join the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) is not from the agency.

In a statement on Tuesday (Oct 14), the AKPS noted the spread of the so-called hiring pamphlet online and confirmed that it was false.

During the recent tabling of Budget 2026 on Oct 10, it was announced that the government has agreed to allocate 220 postings to the AKPS.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ibrahim said the priority will be given to those from the Armed Forces veteran community.

However, AKPS stressed that the matter is still due to be discussed in more detail with the Veterans Affairs Department (JHEV) in the near future.

“As of now, no advertisement for vacancies has been uploaded by the agency, and we urge veterans not to be duped,” it said.
