FALSE

According to the police, legitimate employers or companies will never ask employees to make advance payments before starting a job. Early posts on the police’s social media channels indicate that this scam tactic was identified as early as 2021.

Findings by MyCheck reveal that scammers frequently utilise video clips and images stolen from legitimate content creators and businesses to make their posts appear authentic.

Another easier-to-spot red flag is that the scammers frequently use language that sounds unnatural for a native speaker. Their text is often riddled with misspellings as well.
