Police launch murder probe after late-night Klang petrol station shooting leaves one man dead

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 8 — Police are investigating a fatal shooting at a petrol station in Klang late Friday night that left a 34-year-old unemployed man dead.

police chief Datuk Pahlawan Shazeli Datuk Kahar said the South Klang District Police Headquarters received a call from a member of the public at about 11.13pm reporting gunfire at the station.

“Initial investigations revealed that the suspect had fired several shots at the front of the victim’s car, hitting the front part of the victim’s body,” he said in a statement today.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, and the motive is still being determined.

The incident went viral on social media after videos showed the victim lying on the ground covered in blood. Police vehicles and several officers were seen at the scene to maintain order as a medical team arrived.

Kosmo! Online reported that the victim had eight prior criminal records and was wanted under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma).
