KUALA LUMPUR: Police are tracking down two men suspected of snatching a gold necklace from a woman outside a temple in Kampung Pandan yesterday.
Wangsa Maju deputy police chief Superintendent Syahrul Anuar Abdul Wahab said the incident occurred around 2pm, as the woman was approaching her car near the temple.
“Two unidentified men on a motorcycle suddenly approached and snatched the necklace she was wearing. Several men nearby attempted to catch the suspects but were unsuccessful,” he said in a statement.
He added, “According to the victim’s nephew, his aunt was not physically injured, but still traumatised by the incident. As such, she has not filed a police report.
“The nephew’s father also sustained a hand injury while trying to stop the assailants.”
Syahrul Anuar added that police have obtained CCTV footage from the scene and are working to identify and locate the suspects.
