PETALING JAYA: Bersatu should focus on its internal turmoil instead of making projections about the possibility of the upcoming polls, advised Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
The Communications Minister, who is also PKR‘s information chief, said it would be better for Bersatu to focus on why a poison pen letter was distributed, which is an indication that it is not well within the party.
“My prediction about Bersatu’s internal politics is that it is more ‘vibrant and dynamic’. I suggest they focus on the letter.
“I also think Bersatu should put more focus on its annual general meeting (AGM),” he said at the post-Cabinet press conference here on Wednesday (Sept 3).
Fahmi was responding to a question regarding Bersatu’s projection that the 16th General Election (GE16) and state elections could be held next year.
Earlier, Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said he expected GE16 will be held next year along with several state elections.
Recently, as the Bersatu AGM approaches, a letter was circulated defaming its deputy president, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.
The Bersatu AGM is scheduled to be held on Sept 6 to 7 at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC), Shah Alam.
Bersatu Hang Tuah Jaya chief, Mohd Azrudin Md Idris, said the letter, which has been circulating on WhatsApp for the past few days, is believed to be a ‘planned move’.
