Plus anticipates 2.2 million vehicles daily on highways during Merdeka weekend

KUALA LUMPUR: Plus Malaysia Bhd expects traffic on its highways to rise to as many as 2.2 million vehicles per day ahead of the long weekend ahead of the 68th Merdeka celebration.

Highway users have been urged to plan their journeys ahead to ensure smoother travel during the festive period from tomorrow until next Monday.

“Plus has enhanced the MyPLUS-TTA feature in its application to help motorists better plan their trips on peak days, including the National Day holiday, in addition to the usual festive seasons.

“Unlike the festive version, the latest upgrade includes a ‘Favourite Routes’ function, allowing users to save preferred routes for quicker access, and a ‘Real-Time Alert’ display that provides traffic updates directly on the search results page,” it said in a statement.

It also said that a new drop-down menu has also replaced the previous scrolling option, making route selection more user-friendly.

The highway also said that, unlike during festive seasons where peak travel days are pre-determined, the company will continuously monitor traffic and update peak-period advice to give motorists the most relevant travel information.

The public has been encouraged to download or update the Plus app at https://bit.ly/3pO2PYs.
