KUALA LUMPUR: PKR‘s branch election results will be finalised soon, says its election committee chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa.
She said the Central Leadership Council had been briefed by the 2025 election committee on the latest report regarding the methods for reviewing the election process, particularly in relation to objections raised over the recent branch-level results.
“The review process will be carried out carefully, fairly and with integrity to safeguard the party’s election process before proceeding with the national-level voting scheduled for May,” she said in a statement today.
She said final decisions after reviewing all objections are scheduled to be confirmed by May 5 at the latest.
Dr Zaliha, who is also Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), said the election committee would announce the winners of uncontested branch-level posts and the list of delegates to the National Congress for branches without reasonable disputes — based on the committee’s assessment — by May 1.
“The list will also be handed over to the Secretary-General’s Office for coordination and preparations for the National Congress, the Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Congress and the Women’s Congress, scheduled for May 23-25,” she said.
She said branches that have filed objections are still undergoing the review process, with each objection submitted through official election committee channels to be assessed thoroughly and fairly before finalisation.
She added that re-voting for four branches — Jempol, Selayang, Silam and Semporna — will be held on May 1, with notices to be issued promptly to the affected branches.
“The election committee calls on all party members to remain calm, trust the ongoing process and work together to preserve the party’s harmony and unity,” she said.
