KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has reshuffled its top leadership, announcing a slate of new appointments to its Political Bureau and Central Leadership Council following its monthly leadership council meeting today.
Among those appointed as ex officio members of the Political Bureau are Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari, Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid and Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.
Meanwhile, Datuk Jamawi Ja’afar, Datuk Ruji Ubi, Datuk Yamani Hafez Musa and Datuk Fahmi Fadzil were named as ex officio members of the party’s Central Leadership Council.
In a statement, Fahmi who is also PKR information chief said the meeting also reviewed the rollout of key government initiatives, including the National Education Plan, which aims to strengthen education quality while equipping the younger generation to meet the demands of an increasingly complex digital landscape.
The leadership council also discussed people-centric assistance programmes such as Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara), Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR), Jualan Rahmah and Early Schooling Aid, noting areas that could be improved to better ease cost-of-living pressures.
PKR also reaffirmed its support for efforts to combat corruption and cartels, emphasising the need to safeguard public funds from misuse.
The meeting also decided that the PKR National Congress will be held in Melaka from June 25 to 28.
