Photo show on Chinese modernization opens in Tajik capital

DUSHANBE, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) — A photo exhibition on ‘s achievements in modernization opened here Saturday, drawing people from political and media circles to discuss development cooperation.

Themed “A New Chapter of Miracles: Chinese Modernization through the Lens of Xinhua,” the exhibit displays 30 photographs that showcase ‘s remarkable progress in economic, social, cultural and environmental areas under the leadership of the Communist Party of (CPC).

Before touring the photo show at the Chinese embassy, Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan Guo Zhijun and Tajik officials discussed how the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee could create new opportunities for strengthening bilateral ties. They also exchanged views on how China’s upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan may further advance efforts to build a closer China-Tajikistan community with a shared future.

Guo said China and Tajikistan share similar development goals and visions as well as broad potential for cooperation.

China stands ready to take the successful convening of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee as an opportunity to support Tajikistan’s development, leveraging the new progress of Chinese modernization, and to help both countries advance toward modernization together, he said.

Aziz Giyozoda, deputy speaker of the Lower Chamber of the Parliament of Tajikistan, said China has managed to balance rapid development with technological progress and cultural heritage preservation, and its successful experience in modernization and social governance provides valuable insights for Tajikistan’s future development.

“The photos in the exhibition are truly impressive. They show that while driving economic growth, China’s modernization also prioritizes people’s well-being and environmental sustainability,” he said.

Umeda Abdullozoda, deputy chairperson of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan, said China’s achievements in modernization, innovation and digital technologies, as well as its advanced infrastructure and major urban centers, left a strong impression on her.

“We hope to further strengthen cooperation with the CPC to achieve win-win results and promote the prosperity and development of our two countries,” she added.

Rustam Latifzoda, chairman of the Agrarian Party of Tajikistan, said he has visited China many times and witnessed the country’s sweeping changes firsthand.

“China is an important investment and trading partner of Tajikistan. Under the Belt and Road Initiative, many major projects have been implemented,” he said. “Both sides attach great importance to cooperation in agriculture, innovation, water resource management and human resource training, areas that align perfectly with Tajikistan’s national development goals.”

Co-hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Tajikistan, the Almaty Bureau of Xinhua News Agency and China Photo Service, the exhibition aims to present the international community with a vivid picture of Chinese modernization.
