Pakatan Harapan and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, who will be working together in the Sabah polls, are one seat away from completing negotiations, says Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
The PH secretary-general said that he, along with PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim, had met with GRS chairman Hajiji Noor and secretary-general Masidi Manjun last night to finalise the matter.
The meeting was also attended by PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar.
“There is only one more seat that we need to iron out, other than that it is pretty much resolved,” he told reporters after witnessing the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the national registration department and the National Population and Family Development Board.
Last week, Saifuddin said seat negotiations between the two coalitions had reached the final stage.
It was also reported last week that PH had finalised seat negotiations with Barisan Nasional to ensure they would not clash in the polls.
PH, BN and GRS are allies at the federal level, but BN is in the opposition in Sabah.
PH has reached separate pacts with both coalitions, but GRS and BN have refused to work together and said they were prepared to clash with each other in some seats.
The 17th Sabah election will be held on Nov 29, with nomination day set for Nov 15, and early voting on Nov 25.
The state assembly has 79 seats, with 73 of them being contested. The other six seats are for appointed assemblymen.
