Petronas Dagangan Q2 profit down 4pct, declares 22 sen dividend

KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Dagangan Bhd’s net profit eased 3.93 per cent to RM265.53 million in the second quarter ended June 30, 2025, from RM276.39 million a year earlier, as weaker gross profit in the retail segment outweighed cost savings.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said the softer earnings were due to a less favourable MOPS (Mean of Platts Singapore) price trend and lower demand for diesel and motor gasoline in its retail business.

Quarterly revenue fell 7.85 per cent to RM9.07 billion from RM9.84 billion, reflecting a seven per cent drop in average selling prices and a one per cent decline in sales volume.

The company declared a second-quarter interim dividend of 22 sen per share, payable on Sept 23, with an entitlement date of Sept 11. This is higher than the 20 sen per share declared in the same quarter last year.
