Perak 'to quit Super League'?

KUALA LUMPUR: Social media was abuzz on Thursday with claims that Perak will not feature in next season’s Super League.

It was said that the club’s management held a meeting with players recently.

The meeting was reportedly not only to finalise a decision to pull out of the 2025-2026 Super League but also to discuss ways to settle outstanding wages.

However, no official statement has been issued by the club.

BH Sukan attempted to contact Perak chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azim Zabidi for comment, but he could not be reached.

Perak are believed to be among several clubs struggling with salary arrears.

The speculation has sparked fresh questions about next season’s Super League, with the Malaysian Football League (MFL) expected to announce details of the club licensing process after April 30.

Perak finished seventh in the just concluded season with 30 points.
