A Bersatu division chief in Perak has denied claims of statutory declarations (SDs) calling for the replacement of Ahmad Faizal Azumu as state Bersatu chief.
Taiping Bersatu chief Kader Maideen Hussain said it was “not the party’s culture” to use SDs for the appointment of state chapter heads.
FMT previously quoted an unnamed Bersatu division chief as claiming that the SDs were issued by 16 chiefs who did not agree with how Faizal had asked Sungai Manik assemblyman Zainol Fadzi Paharudin to swap seats with Changkat Jong assemblyman Nadziruddin Bandi.

Kader said only Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin had the power to appoint state chapter chiefs.
“All decisions and appointments by the president have (the chiefs’) full support, with no doubt whatsoever.
“It is regrettable that such an untrue and baseless news report from an unnamed source is being shared.
“The portal’s motives are questionable. We have no time for such malicious attempts to break the unity in Perak Bersatu,” Sinar Harian quoted him as saying today.
Kader also said Faizal’s leadership as Perak Bersatu chief and Perak Perikatan Nasional chairman was fully mandated by national PN chairman Muhyiddin.
Separately, Sinar Harian also quoted Faizal as refusing to comment on the alleged SDs, noting only that the report in question had cited an unnamed source.
