BATU KAWAN, Oct 23 — A man was found dead inside a car parked near the rest area at the Bandar Cassia toll plaza here this evening, said Penang Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director John Sagun Francis.

He said police alerted the department at 4.10 pm about an unconscious man inside a Toyota Vios, prompting a team of five firefighters with a fire engine from the Batu Kawan station to be dispatched to the scene.

“Upon arrival, the commander conducted an initial assessment before directing the team to open the car door using specialised equipment,” he said in a statement today.

The 43-year-old man was found lying in the driver’s seat and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

The body was handed over to the police for further action and the operation concluded at 6.16 pm. — Bernama
