PETALING JAYA:

A doctor in Penang has been arrested by police for the fourth time yesterday, this time for allegedly molesting a female patient at a private clinic in Bayan Baru, Penang.

Barat Daya police chief Sazalee Adam said the 43-year-old was nabbed at the district police headquarters at 8pm yesterday after being summoned to assist in the probe.

He said the victim had filed a police report on July 18 on the incident, which occurred around 11.46am on June 29, Bernama reported.

She was seeking treatment at the clinic for abdominal pains. While in the examination room, the suspect had asked her to take off her shirt before touching both her breasts, said Sazalee.

The cops also confiscated the doctor’s phone.

Acting Penang police chief Alwi Zainal Abidin confirmed that the suspect is the same medical officer who was arrested several times prior to this for indecent behaviour with female patients.

He said the doctor is under remand until tomorrow to assist in investigations under Section 354 of the Penal Code for use of criminal force with intent to outrage the modesty of a person.

Previously, the doctor was arrested three times for indecent behaviour at a hospital and two private clinics in the Timur Laut district.

He had purportedly tricked the victims into undressing and had taken pictures of them using his handphone.

He was probed under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insult to modesty and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for insulting behaviour.
