KUALA LUMPUR: The peace agreement between Thailand and Cambodia to resolve their longstanding border dispute is expected to be signed within the next two days, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.
During the Prime Minister’s Question Time session in the Dewan Rakyat today, Anwar said the signing is expected to be witnessed by him and United States President Donald Trump, in conjunction with the 47th Asean Summit this weekend.
“As we know, several meetings between the heads of the armed forces and foreign ministers of both Thailand and Cambodia have taken place in Kuala Lumpur.
“Most recently, the defence ministers of both countries finalised the detailed terms of the peace agreement, and if agreed upon, the signing will be witnessed by Trump, who also supports this resolution, as well as myself,” he said.
