KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 12 — The wife of missing Pastor Raymond Koh has written to Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail requesting a meeting over the police investigation into her husband’s disappearance.

In a letter dated today, Susanna Liew thanked Saifuddin Nasution for affirming that police would comply with the High Court’s order to reopen investigations and determine Koh’s whereabouts.

She said the minister’s public assurance — that the police would resume investigations and establish her husband’s whereabouts — had given her family renewed hope after nearly nine years of uncertainty.

“For nearly nine years, my children and I have lived with the absence of a husband and father, wondering about his fate,” she said.

“Reading about your commitment to act on the court’s directive gives us hope to finally know the truth.”

Liew requested a meeting with Saifuddin Nasution together with her lawyers to present their views on the court order, noting that the minister had earlier met with representatives from the Attorney General’s Chambers for a briefing on the case.

She also urged the minister to consider appointing Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay to lead the investigation, describing him as a person of integrity and independence.

“The appointment of Tan Sri Ayob Khan would send a clear signal that the investigation is being taken seriously and will proceed independently, thoroughly and with credibility,” she said.

Koh was abducted in Petaling Jaya on February 13, 2017, in a daylight incident captured on video. The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) later concluded that he was a victim of “enforced disappearance” involving police officers.

Liew said she hoped the minister would grant her a meeting soon, adding that the court’s order and Saifuddin’s words had given her “long-awaited hope” that the truth will finally be known.
