SEREMBAN: is prepared to offer legal services to civil servants who may face action for participating in the Himpunan Turun scheduled for this Saturday (July 26).

According to Sinar Harian, Deputy President of , Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said that it was the right of every individual, including civil servants, to assemble, as guaranteed by the Constitution.

“The right of people to assemble is guaranteed in the Constitution. Therefore, when the Constitution guarantees it, there should not be other rules that contradict it.

“Even civil servants have the right to assemble, and in the past, many groups, such as doctors, have gathered.

“So if action is taken against them, each party is ready to provide support. God willing, we are confident that many will assist,” he said.

He made these remarks after the Ceramah Pra Himpunan Turun Peringkat Negeri Sembilan on Wednesday (July 23).

However, he advised each rally participant to follow set rules, particularly to avoid using weapons and engaging in provocative actions.

He also expressed gratitude to the former Chief Justice, Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, for restoring the people’s right to assemble.

“Our rally is called a peaceful assembly, and we thank the former Chief Justice because before retiring, she clarified the rights of the people to assemble.

“The police have the right to impose restrictions, but it should suffice to ensure that unwanted incidents do not occur, as it is the police’s responsibility,” he added.

Reflecting on the public’s sentiment, especially following the Prime Minister’s appreciation announcement yesterday, Tuan Ibrahim expects an even larger turnout than ‘s previous target of 300,000 people.

Additionally, he did not dismiss the possibility that the Prime Minister’s appreciation announcement to the people yesterday was related to the Himpunan Turun being organized.

“Why not wait for the budget presentation? Such announcements should be made during the budget.

“But why was it made now? It means that during the budget, there will likely be more such “appreciations”, meaning if we hold more assemblies, perhaps the people will receive more,” he said.
