A PAS delegate has suggested that Sabah PAS commissioner Aliakbar Gulasan be named as the party’s chief minister candidate for the upcoming Sabah polls.
Shah Alam PAS delegate Sukri Omar said PAS deserves a chance to lead Perikatan Nasional (PN) in facing the state polls.
“We propose that Aliakbar, a leader with knowledge and integrity, leads us in Sabah.
“(We will rise up and take over) in Sabah and Sarawak, and the other states as well, before the next general election.
“God willing, we will also gain control of Putrajaya,” he said at the PAS muktamar here today.
Aliakbar was appointed in 2020 as a nominated assemblyman in the Sabah government led by chief minister Hajiji Noor.
Sukri, who is also Selangor PAS Youth chief, said PAS remains the most stable party, considering how its top leadership is unchanged in the latest polls.
“(A party’s) ability to govern the nation is judged by how it governs itself,” he said.
For the record, Bersatu vice-president Ronald Kiandee is Sabah PN chairman.
