KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan dismisses any secret pacts or being the third force for any party in the upcoming election.

“We have said that Parti Warisan will only work with the people. We will stand in 73 state seats,” said its president, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

Shafie said this to reporters at the Inspirasi Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal Bersama Rakyat kawasan DUN N.2 Bengkoka in Kg Dandun, Pitas on Saturday (Sept 27).

He reiterated the need for a government that focuses on addressing issues such as water, electricity, infrastructure and floods.

Earlier, he welcomed Datuk Abdul Mijul Unaini, the former Banggi assemblyman, into Parti Warisan.

Abdul Mijul was the PGRS deputy chief for Banggi.

Earlier this week, Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stated that they had not ruled out the possibility of working with Parti Warisan in the upcoming Sabah state election.

He had said that Barisan was open to cooperating with any party that shared its principles.

On Friday (Sept 26), vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said there was a third force that Barisan was hoping to work with, but did not disclose this third force’s identity, stating it was the party’s secret.

He made this statement at the Jelajah Wira Madani programme at Sepanggar Navy Base, near here.
