Paramotorist hits TNB cable, falls 30m into padi field

MELAKA: A paramotor pilot escaped with minor injuries after hitting a Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) cable and falling 30 metres into a padi field yesterday morning.

The incident occured after the paramotor, operated by a member of the Paramotor Club, encountered technical issues over a padi field in Kampung Ku Sayang, Bukit Baru.

Several video clips of the early morning crash went viral yesterday.

Melaka Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit said the victim sustained minor facial injuries while the paramotor was slightly damaged.

He said TNB personnel inspected the affected cable and confirmed no damage was found.

In a statement, TNB said the incident did not cause any disruption to the electricity supply in the area.

“We will continue to monitor the situation and ensure the safety of the electricity network,” it said.
