KUALA LUMPUR: According to police, there has been no ransom demand linked to the disappearance of Datin Seri Pamela Ling, who was set to provide her statement at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said the investigation of her kidnapping is ongoing.
“We have not received any new leads yet, but the investigation is ongoing.
“We have recorded the statements of 12 individuals including MACC officers and the victim’s lawyer,” he said when contacted on Sunday (May 4).
Comm Rusdi previously said the 42-year-old woman was believed to have been abducted on April 9.
“She was scheduled to give a statement regarding an investigation by the MACC. The MACC had also confirmed her absence,” he said.
He added that a police report was made by the victim’s lawyer in Seri Kembangan.
According to Pamela’s brother, Simon, the family has been made to understand that the e-hailing car that Pamela was travelling in on the day of her disappearance was intercepted by three unidentified vehicles, and she was instructed to get into one of them.
