Police have arrested a man and a woman allegedly seen in a viral video committing indecent acts at a Chinese cemetery in Air Itam, Penang.
Timur Laut police chief Abdul Rozak Muhammad said a report was filed yesterday over the incident which occurred at the Batu Gantung Chinese cemetery on March 22.
Rozak said a 37-year-old woman was arrested at a flat near Rifle Range, Air Itam, while a 58-year-old man was nabbed in Sungai Ara.
“Both suspects admitted their involvement in the case and will be remanded for further investigation,” he said in a statement.
The case is being investigated for committing indecent acts, insulting the modesty of a person, and the misuse of network facilities.
A viral video showed the pair being confronted after engaging in a lewd act at a tombstone in the cemetery, which saw the man in the nude.
NST quoted Penang police chief Azizee Ismail as saying the two were not married.
