Over 1,700 students fail 2024 SPM examinations

: The number of students who failed the 2024 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination has slightly increased by 0.1 per cent compared to the previous year, the Education Ministry said.

Its director-general, Datuk Azman Adnan, said a total of 1,789 candidates, or 0.5 per cent of those who sat for the 2024 SPM examination, failed.

He said the figure represents an increase of 0.1 per cent compared to the 1,467 candidates who failed the exam in 2023.

As such, Azman said the ministry is working on intervention measures to address the issue and reduce the number of students failing the SPM examinations in the future.
